Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

Weight Loss Hypnotherapy; Do you Know How To Spot A Fraudster?

If you are worried about your weight and you are considering having some weight loss hypnotherapy, then there are some things that you should think about before you go to a hypnotherapist to have a session. Although there are few fraudsters out there, there is always a risk that the person may not be as competent as they claim, so simply bear the following in mind.

Registration:

All hypnotherapists and hypnotists need to be registered with the The National Council for Hypnotherapy and if the hypnotherapist or hypnotist is not, then you should regard them as not being competent. It is far better to trust a qualified hypnotherapist than someone who simply promises you the earth, but fails to deliver.

False Claims:

If a hypnotherapist promises you that weight loss hypnotherapy will have you lose a stone (14lbs or around 7 kg) in a fortnight, or something that is simply not going to happen, then you should walk away. All responsible weight loss hypnotherapy practitioners will be concerned with ensuring that you start to eat better foods, in the sense that you eat good foods, that will help you to control and reduce your weight, but they should not try to starve you.

Nor should any weight loss hypnotherapy encourage you to stop eating or to eat only a specific type of food. Good weight loss hypnotherapists will work with you to encourage your sub-conscious mind to stop asking or craving for foods that are not conducive to weight loss or may cause you to put on weight.

So for example, in weight loss hypnotherapy you would work to replace the ‘bad foods’ (chips, fried foods, foods that are high in fat or sugar) with foods that are better for you. You would not be told that all you can eat is pineapples for the next month.

The weight loss with hypnotherapy should be steady but slow, which will be better for you and better for your body in the long run. It should also be about eating healthily and taking care of your body; not about starvation, weird diets or ending up stick thin. Healthy weight is important and this means not too fat, but conversely, not too thin!

Caring Approach:

All practitioners who use weight loss hypnotherapy to help clients lose weight should be able to establish a really trusting relationship with that client. If the trust is not there, then the hypnotherapy is less likely to succeed. So if you feel that a hypnotherapist is not interested in you or is simply doing the hypnotherapy as a job, not to help people, then walk away. You should only be treated by someone that you can trust and whom you can establish a rapport with.

In hypnotherapy the voice is important and you need to trust the voice that you hear or else it will not be a success.

Instinct:

The final point to bear in mind before you have weight loss hypnotherapy is related to the trust, but is more of an instinctive reaction, rather than a rational or conscious decision. But if your instinct does not ‘gel’ with the weight loss hypnotherapy practitioner, then again it is better to walk away and find someone that your natural instinct is to feel some kind of affinity with them. Sometimes this is simply an instinctive reaction, you cannot even put into words why you feel this way, but it doesn’t matter, your instinct is to be relied upon.

Good weight loss hypnotherapists will acknowledge this and be comfortable with your decision; fraudsters may be less understanding.
