5 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Sleep Hypnosis Sessions

Sleep hypnosis is a powerful aid to helping you to sleep soundly at night and be able to turn off from those racing thoughts that seem to run round your head, until it feels like you will not ever let you sleep. In turn this makes you anxious, after all, you have to get up for work tomorrow and so it goes on, with the anxiety getting more of a hold and the thoughts racing through your mind at top speed. Sleep hypnosis can help you to turn off these thoughts and instead, concentrate on simply drifting off to sleep.

Sleep hypnosis is extremely effective at helping people to overcome insomnia and sleep better, often for the first time in years. It is, however, important to remember that sleep hypnosis is not a ‘miracle cure’ and there are some things that you can do to ensure that you make the most of your sleep hypnosis sessions and that they have the maximum effect:

  1. Avoid stimulants late in the day. Although this may sound obvious, it is amazing how many people will still have a cup of tea or coffee late in the evening and then wonder why their sleep hypnosis sessions are not being as effective as usual. Caffeine is a real stimulant and it should be avoided from late in the afternoon and certainly never taken after dinner. If you really can’t do without coffee in the evening, then switch to decaffeinated drinks, so you get the taste without the stimulants. This will really help your sleep hypnosis sessions to work. You should also avoid alcohol and nicotine before you go to bed. Although we may all think that a glass or two of wine before we go to bed will help us sleep better, the reality is that it will not and it disturbs sleep. So make sure that you don’t use alcohol to self-medicate. Instead rely on your sleep hypnosis to do the work for you! Nicotine also acts as a stimulant, so avoid smoking cigarettes before you go to bed. Nicotine speeds up the heart, so you will find it more difficult to relax.
  2. Try to avoid watching late night horrors (or surfing the net, or working on your PC) and then going straight to bed. Your brain needs time to switch off from horrors/work or something that is very gripping. So after a very thrilling film or TV programme, take half an hour or so, just to sit quietly, to help yourself ‘calm down’ and have your brain ready to switch off. This will ensure that you are more receptive to relaxation.
  3. You should also aim to have a regular time for going to bed. Going to bed at 10 pm one night, followed by 2 am and then 3 am, will not be conducive to a good night’s sleep.
  4. Use the relaxation techniques that you will be taught in the sleep hypnosis sessions to help induce a good night’s sleep. These techniques will help you to drift off and ensure that you have a good, restful night’s sleep.
  5. Finally adjust the temperature in your sleeping area. If we are too cold it is hard to sleep, but conversely if it is too warm you will also find that you find it difficult to drift off or that you wake feeling clammy. Having a temperature that is just right for you will ensure that you can sleep more easily and that your sleep hypnosis sessions will be as effective as possible.

These 5 simple steps will help your sleep hypnosis sessions to really have an impact and resolve your insomnia problems for good!

to enjoy life again!
